Couple questions about parts needed to complete D1SC kit
I recently bought a slightly used D1SC kit off of a fellow board member. The kit was 90% complete, with the exception of the obligatory fuel delivery parts and also the needed fan/shroud. I'm a total newb at FI, so I'm not sure on exactly what I need on some of these parts.
I have the fuel pump figured out, but which injectors should I go with? This is going to be a relatively mild FI build staying in the 475-500whp range. It seems the general consensus is to go with 60lb injectors, so that's my initial plan, unless you guys think 42s would work OK? There is a bit of money to be saved with going smaller, so if it's possible I would go that route to have the extra money for some other items. Any particular brands, or are they all pretty much the same.
The fan/shroud issue I am lost on, mainly because I haven't delved into the installation manual yet so I don't know exactly what's needed. EPP sells an ATI fan and ATI shroud, so I'm assuming that's the safe bet. If there's a cheaper alternative or anything else I should be aware of, please let me know. Do I need the shroud? Can I go with a conventional 16" pusher fan? Any advice here is appreciated.
Last question, where is the best place to get a crank pinning kit?
Thanks guys.

For the injectors, if you haven't purchased them yet, go with the 60s. If you already have the 42s, they will be fine for that power level. You'll need to at least upgrade your fuel pump as well. I recommend a racetronix with hotwire kit for the ease of install. Others recommend a few other routes.
Because of possible overheating issues. I would just build your own dual fan setup. If you do a search there are a few write-ups around. Basically you'll need a 16" and a 9" puller fan.
EPP sells the pinning kit.

OK, I've done a little searching on the fan issue. Couple things...
I saw where Bob @ EPP mentioned moving the stock radiator support forward an inch or so and still being able to use the stock fans. Can someone explain this a little further, or toss me a link? I'd really rather do this if it's a feasible solution rather than spend the money on new fans and a shroud.
If I do get the shroud and fan, how much of a problem do you think I'll have with temps being that I live in Alaska? Our warmest day here in Anchorage is in the lower 70s, and that's only for a few weeks out of the year. Would the ATI 16" fan and ATI shroud be enough to handle these temps, or would I still need to add a 9" fan?

I believe you'll need to cut the lower bumper support (metal) to move the stock fans. Not something I'd wanna do since I don't like to cut into cars.
The single 16" will probably be more then sufficient in Alaska . Even in warmer climates its suppose to be fine until you run the AC.

I agree, I would go with the ProCharger sheet metal and fan assemblies.
