Default stock 317's power limit...

what kind of power have you made with stock casting 317's and how much boost? Looks like my budget wont allow me to buy some heads for a while

Reading up on almost all the 317 threads, they can make some really great power with alot of boost but you have to remember there stock casting heads, meaning smaller deck height. Some have made a 800rwhp and some have made 1000rwhp, it all depends on your setup and how hard you want to push them.

Im planning on using them to support around 800-900 whp with my forged 370ci 6.0 iron block with a gt88 by forced inductions of course they will have new springs (patriot duals) installed but other than that they should hold up ok... expect them to push water at a certain point though.. im figuring over 16psi will equal issues.... they are definatley a decent casting for a FI motor though on the cheap! any guys running 16psi plus without pushing water on these heads yet ?? if so please chime in!

Well hopefully I wont have to push them to hard for very long. Then I will have to spoil myself with some AFR's

Same here. We are about to begin fabrication on putting a ford 8.8 in my car. Hopefully things go well and we will build a jig and sell a kit for the swap

I dont see why they shouldent hold 800+ rwhp. I made 813 to the wheels and have no issues, standard arp and mls gaskets. 18 psi
