Default Stock LS1 turbo setup

Was hoping to get some feedback on this setup. I have a stock LS1 and I am looking to get 500rw hp/tq. This is what I have planned:

T70 front mount with .70 compressor and .96 housing
Turbosmart 38mm wastegate with 7 psi spring
42lb Ford Injectors
Stock in-tank pump and an inline Walbro
Patriot springs

No other changes at this time. Sound good for my goals?

id go with 60lb injectors and a double in-tank walbro setup. im not a fan of inline fuel pumps, so id either just do a single or double in tank setup, other than that let it rip and see what happens, might need a few more pounds to hit your goal.

There are some great stickies to read at the top of this section. Just an upgraded Walbro should get you to 500 or damn close without an inline. 60lb injectors also.

I'll go with the 60lb injectors and take a look at a doing a single in-tank pump.

Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

Agreed 60lb injectors and a larger single intank for now and you can go dual later if you need to down the line. Also you did not state a year but you should get a ls6 intake at least also. I think you will need to run abuot 10psi or so to meet your goal on that size turbo.

I am going to be doing the same setup pretty much but adding a turbo cam to mine and running a 76 or 78 trim turbo and about 8lbs... I am shooting for 500rwhp on 150k mile motor.

the patriots which ones are they if possible get some dual golds and save yourself for when that power level gets boring and for when you want to get a cam

Sounds healthy enough...
But there might be an issue with the stock in-tank running with an external walbro... the stock in-tank walbro can only supply so much volume of fuel,
It will starve the external walbro which is capable of much more capacity and output.
if anything i would go with a single intank walbro. Just my opinion.

42lbs injectors might hold out for the time being but if you plan on increasing power later down the road you might want to save a little more and get 60's
are you going to do anything with a fuel pressure reg. for boost reference?

42s should work if you already have them. If you are purchasing new then just get the 60s.

Interesting point, I thought I had read about this kind of setup somewhere - the stock in-tank and then a second in-line pump. If a single in-tank walbro will work then I will probably do that. The gas tank is brand new and never had fuel in it so it should be pretty easy to do.

I am going to use a corvette regulator (this is all going in a '67 camaro). I've used these in NA swaps before. I'm assuming this will get the job done for this setup and power level?

Haven't bought the injectors yet so I will go with the 60lb.

I take it this is not a dd. I would look into e85 if it's plentyful around your area. I have 11 stations with in 20 miles of my house. 4 with in 5-8 miles.

I made 618/695 on a VERY safe tune with e85 and a bone stock ls6 bottom end. this same engine had 4 years of sts use before I built the front mount set-up.

80 lbs injectors (they were $20-25 more then 60's)
mpt76
3 255 pumps, 100% custom billet hat and bottom assy.
1.1 fpr (43psi base)
02 zo6 cam
241 heads
e85 with 16* timing and a 10.2/10.3

other parts are
hks ssqv
jgs 50 mm wastegate
ebay intercooler
ebay 3" piping
fast rails

sold the sts kit for 3500, I have 2500 in building my own set-up and maybe another 1000 for fuel.

the stock engine will take alot of abuse!! make sure there plenty of fuel and a solid tune. I saved money every where I could. but when it came to fuel and tuning I spared no money. 5 years later same engnie is stil making boost.

Well, I won't be driving it to work every day or anything, but I do want near dd reliability for this car. Not a lot of e85 near me, so I will have to run 91.
