Default Am I too low to the ground?

I have speed engineering headers and 3" True Duals. After changing to my Ridetech Level 2 Suspension Kit, I am smacking my headers and exhaust on every minor bump even on the highway. It seems most prominent on the passenger side.

Posting photos of height and exhaust.

What needs to be corrected? My exhaust or ride height?

Looks great. The exhaust looks low to me. There's a lot of real estate between the pipes and the heat shields, for example. You might post to the Exhaust section and see if members there have experience in bringing the pig pipes up. I expect that the headers are less of a problem as they are closer to the front axle, but everything in the middle of the car will be more vulnerable. (Not to mention any errant squirrel who decides to go for the five-hole instead of getting out of your way.)

The ground effects make it look lower then it is. This is what I have between the lowest point of the exhaust and the ground. Car is 26" at front, from the ground to the height of the wheel arch. 26.75" at the rear, from the ground to the height of the wheel arch.

As @wssix99 said, looks like the exhaust needs to be tucked a bit tighter. Not sure what can be done, about your Speed Engineering primary hanging so low (short of shortening it by doing some cutting and welding).

The driver side collector on those speed engineering headers, juts down quite a bit further than my TSP headers. Are they 1 7/8"?

Moving this thread to the Gen III External section for best advice on tucking pipes in.

I sit about that high too. Only thing that sucks is speed bumps and those big dips you don’t see coming on the high way! Being cool isn’t always easy haha

Did you change out your motor mounts ? putting in some poly mounts will raise your engine some by eliminating the slop in worn rubber

I'm banging the hell out of them even on the highway. I haven't driven it lately until I figure out what I'm going to do about it.

I'll see if I can get an exhaust shop to get the exhaust further off the ground.

Do you think the Headers are too low as well? I was thinking of seeing if I can cut / have them bent then slant them to hug the bottom of the car more than they do.

Do you think it would be worth it to reduce to 2.5" pipes for more clearance? they are true duals all the way to the back. I intend on supercharging soon however so I'm a little concerned about that too.

"Do you think it would be worth it to reduce to 2.5" pipes for more clearance?"

...... Keep the 2.5" diameter, certainly.
It's the intrinsic design of the headers, "they're WRONG".
Whoever built the headers, and marketed them for your application did it WRONG.

I was thinking of modifying the headers to have them bend and hug the floor pan of the car as closely as possible and have the exhaust tucked higher.. maybe even go with bullet cats ..

That is a good plan, and as @sjsingle1 said, make sure to use poly mounts when you tuck the headers up. That will keep the collectors from banging into the floor boards, you don't want the sound, the potential damage, or the knock retard from that.

I raised my Miata a touch when I upgraded my coilovers recently. It’s a street car, it needs to be usable.

If that was my car, I’d raise it a bit. I wouldn’t touch the headers, but I’d tuck the exhaust up as much as I could.

General rule of thumb: If it’s dragging the ground it’s too low.

You might gain a bit if you loosen the header bolts and with a floor jack under the collector lift up on the header and then retighten the bolts. Not a lot of upwards pressure.

I am wondering, has anyone ever modified the trans / driveshaft tunnel to be wide enough to fit dual 3" pipes through the tunnel?
