Default maggie questions

Is there any major difference in the 4th and 5th Gen maggies?
I have heard some guys mention that they prefer the NON intercooled version; Is there any truth in this?
Is the 112 the best size for the LS1 engine?
Thanks guys

I've got the 112 and I'm making 480 RWHP with a fairly conservative tune... but its basically maxed out on airflow. I gotta tell you though, it's reliable as hell and she runs fine in 110 deg heat all day at track events with no problems.

If you can find a 122 go for it. My next car will have a twin screw .

122 is recommended for 400+ ci. displacement engines.

I can promise you that you slap a 122 onto any stock displacement motor with a 112 and it'll make more power and more importantely have a much higher "ceiling"

Same pretty much here. We installed a 112 and a cam on a '05 cts-v and so far are at 490rwhp on a conservative tune. We are working on pulley'ing it up, but realistically it's going to be out of steam fairly soon.

Well yeah, so will and F4 over an F1. Doesn't mean it's necessary or "overkill" for your needs/goals.

I've thought about upgrading to a 122, will it fit under a 4th gen. f-body hood?

I have an MP122 on my 6.0L truck. It plays real nice. It gets into boost at the tap of my right foot. I can see 5 to 6 psi at low rpm with way less than half throttle. It's a front drive and I see 9psi at WOT with a 2.8" blower pulley. I think that the MP122, or a TVS1900 would be a killer setup on a 5.7L motor. You wouldn't "run out" of blower too quick. With a mild blower cam and all the bolt ons, you could keep boost below 10psi and hp well north of 550 at the wheels.
