quad turbo lsx powered sand car video
has anyone stuffed 4 turbos on their car? I wonder how well this lsx-powered one actually drives with all those hairdryers?
I wonder if the front wheels will ever stay on the ground.

Thats a trick question.....it can t drive, it has a pos transaxle in it.
Besides, everyone at the dunes has at least 1000 hp.....I talk to those guys all the time.
lsx, c5R 4 turbo......1000 hp....? and still using a transaxle.....priceless, well not for the guy writing the checks. Have him put some paddles on it and bring it to Dumont. From a stop, at the transition of the hill, I got a nice s475 6.0 that will be glad to lose to him.

sorry, i guess i didnt word my response right. i know it has a transaxle but he was talking about it having "a piece of **** transaxle", like it was a bad thing. But if he knew anything about rails he would know that all rails like this have transaxles. What else would it use?

Yeah Im also a little confused on the transaxle comment as well... they all have transaxles...
Also to me, the goal of the quad turbos was the instant boost they provide... sure it would have been easier to throw a monster whipple on there, but it's still cool!
More turbos have NEVER been about more power... the design goal is to make the same power but in a more usable manner...

Some use mid engines or front engines with much more reliable transmissions. After all the stories I've heard I'd stay away from rear engine stuff if I got a sand rail.

The problem with a front engine is how nose heavy it would be and it would be one hell of a long rail for a mid engine. expecially if it was a 4 seater.

Ok.....well.... some are built other ways....the engine in the back is the worst idea ever sold. The transaxles break.....allllllll the time. You can put a $28000 dollar albins or fortin and break it in a day easy with a true 1000 hp. A $7500 to $15000 mendeola will handle a 400-600 hp car for a very very limited time.
As for the engine in the rear.....ever see a rear engine rail JUMP? They nose over, because of the rebound frm all the weight on the rear......NOW ever SEE A TROPHY TRUCK fly thoughthe air......nice level....and all that weight up front. Its because the front end starts falling as soon as it leaves the ground, with the engine in the front the coils compress and it gets stored energy to get the front end up. With the engine in the rear, the front falls, and the stored energy gets put to the rear wheels causing the car to nose over...wanna see some pictures?
So.....agian....a pos trans axle....yes. Anyone who has EVER had one, knows exactly what Im talking about but they sell it so they BUY it. Some cars have v8's in the front, some in the middle....and if you only think the only way to build one is with a transaxle they you have no experience and no imagination.
Ill be at Dumont in couple weeks....with a mid engine 6.0 (stock) with a single s475 a glide and a 8.8 independant rear, easy to find.
transaxles....also suck up 33% or more power....where does it go? Well, it cant dissappear, so it has to turn to heat, which if I were a transaxle would break the crap out of me too, great design.
