Default TTI upgrade

Just got done talking to nick over at TTI about swaping out my 60mm for a T-76. The units i am looking at are $1500 ball bearing and $1200 non ball bearing. I also have to pick from a .81 a/r turbine housing or a .96 a/r turbine housing.

For the price diffrence i figured the Ball bearing would be worth 300 bucks but i am kind of up in the air about the turbine housing. This is going on a stock short block for now but with plans to drop in a forged 370 next winter.

1. Go with Precision Turbos.

2. Don't go ball bearing. Not worth it.

Since your car is an auto I would go with the .96, I have a T76 with a .96 and love it.

I am limited on what turbo i can run. The T-76 in the case is a unique turbocharger that Turbonetics builds for the TTI system because the compressor cover is smaller than a normal Tseries turbocharger due to the limited space from the engine to the frame.

So ball bearings are not worth the extra 300 bucks? From what i have read that the BB option is better for guys running higher boost. However it also improve reliability and from what most people are saying will result in a smoother power curve since you will reach boost 300-500 rpms faster.

Sorry for the questions but i am still learning turbo's and the LSX for that matter.

Ball bearings is not really worth it. You will never notice boost coming in 300 rpm sooner. Go with the .96 housing.

Is it worth the money, or would you ceramic coat the turbo and manifolds/headers instead?

I bet the T76 is like a TC76 which uses a smaller compressor.

Don't really know, just went to a forged motor but a T76 is good to 1000crank horsepower if I remember correctly. I live about 20 minutes from TTI.

Thanks for the info every one. I had considered the .96 but wanted to make sure it was not going to be too large for the stock bottom end.
