480 is a very safe goal with good tuning on a LS1. As long as you have a good tuner and a good fuel system you can make your power goals with a SC or turbo. I would recomend leaving room to grow down the road. I remeber when i first got started and said "i will be happy with 400" then it was "well i will never need more then 450" and now its "if i could just get into the 10s" And i am sure by next year i will be hunting for 10.5s so i know it will never end.

do not buy a p1sc, you will quickly outgrow it. It is fine if you want a max 650HP out of that blower the time you own it. Of course, thats enough to blow up your bottom end, but then you would need to rebuild back to factory size to still be able to efficiently use it.

lol people like you make me laugh. Not to be a dick but the guy is just starting out and looking for something that is going to give him more power keeping him well within stock range and here you are trying to hit him with the big boy toys... Im sure if he wanted to spend 10+ on a full build those would be great choices..but give him a chance to get started. Start out with a P1..see how far that gets you and if you wanna step up to a D1 or bigger than you can upgrade down the road when you're ready for the rest of the supporting mods.

I say go turbo bc if you ever wanna upgrade sell the current turbo and get a bigger one, and you dont have to drop pulleys to change boost levels.
SC's kinda limit you to what you have and head units are usually alot more then a nice sized turbo.

I have already decided on a turbo now my focus is fuel delivery, FMIC, how much booost(I am thinking 7 PSI) how long will the motor last, what quarter mile times(Stalled A4), what gauges I will need, and where can I put them(I am not a A Pillar fan)

For 7psi...Id say 60lbs injectors for room to grow later..a single 255 should support 7psi(depending on the turbo) without issue they are usually good to around 600hp.Engine life and 1/4 times can never be answered, like its been said a million times before,it might last 100 miles or it might last 100,000.
The 1/4 depends on traction, driver skill, suspension, ect... And (this is only my opinion) id go with(at least) a boost gauge a wideband(most important) and a fuel pressure gauge.
