Default Notching Radiator support

ok i have seen alot of build pics where people cut the support back until the radiator is almost vertical my question is how are you doing this. are you just notching the support or fabbing up a whole new support.Advice whould be great.I attached a pic of a car i have seen it done on for refference

cut out the whole top part of the radiator channel out, close up the ends of the channel and I used 1" square tubing and there you go

on my old setup we left the upper support there, cut out the lower support and replaced with tube. for the cap, we used a hole saw and piece of pipe to form a channel to fit around the rad cap...
