Question FI Questions

I am at the planning/saving stage now but want to build a good LS based stroker with a D1SC or F1 Procharger.

I have a few questions.

1) Is it worth the $$ to build a stroker with FI such as a 5.3L to 383 or 6.0L to 413?

2) Is it worth the weight penalty to use an iron block engine like the LM4/7 5.3L or LQ4/9 6.0L?

3) Are Procomp LS1 or LS3 good aluminum heads for FI?

4) Would a Victor Jr intake(single plane carb but fitted with a throttle body& injectors) be as good but less $$$ than a LSXR?

5) I have E-85 available to me locally is this a low cost solution to the high cost of 100 octane unleaded?

6) Would a 9.5+ CR be too much for FI?

I want to thank you all for your time and knowledge.

Take a look at the build we did back at the old shop on the build above. The website is still up but the shop is closed. We started with a new LS2 block and added a 4 inch stroker crank, compression ratio is around 9.5/1. This is on 93 octane with methanol injection. Bob

Post up what your goals are for this build and it will be much easier to make recommendations. Street or track? Trans? DD? Etc.

Love that Caddy. I've never seen that Edelbrock EFI intake before.

I would like to build a streetable F-1 Procharged mid 9 second Pro-Street car with A/C,CD player, and stock door panels but a 8-10 point rollcage, ladder bar rear suspension, mini or wheel tubs, and at least 29X12.5X15 Hoosier Quick Time Pro's but more likely M/T ET Streets 31X18.5X15's.

I plan on running an air to air intercooler with pump E-85 as the fuel of choice.

I am still looking as far as car choices but 5 really stick out:

1) 1978-1982 Ford Fairmont wagon or sedan
2) 1984-1988 Chevy Monte Carlo SS
3) Late '80's Chrysler Conquest or Mitsubishi Starion
4) 1982-1992 Chevy Camaro
5) 1987-1993 Ford Mustang preferably an LX coupe.

I would like to run a 5.3L iron block(LM4/7) or 6.0L LQ4/9 bored & stroked to either 383(5.3L) or 413(6.0L).
