Default Sale or build turbo kit?

Thinking of trading my car for a GTO, but at the same time I want to build a turbo kit over time. Which way to go with mods listed below and what kind of kit should I do. This will be my first FI car and the more specific on whether to do front mount or rear mount and reasons why would be great as well as sizes for a turbo and intercoolor etc....New to the whole subject as of right now. Current mods listed below...

Thinking of buying all the pipe for a rear mount that I need and cutting it and doing a semi-mock up with tape holding it together then having an exhaust shop weld it for me.

Which setup will be less of a headache for a first timer?
Goal is around 500hp!

-7.350 pushrods

-4:10 gears
-Monster Stage 2 clutch (done @ 113k)
-Tick adjustable master cylinder

Thinking about swapping to the 317 heads because of the compression of my heads with a 59cc. And possibly dropping down to a ls6 cam. Would like to be sitting right on 500hp with the turbo since it's stock bottom with 115K

I had a GTO and quickly realized that making it fast was an uphill battle. First problem is the weight. Second problem is the entire drivetrain behind the transmission. Then there are the issues with the struts eating up the tires, the electrical gremlins and the glue that holds the liners to the interior falling apart. My 2004 GTO was a big pile of **** by 2007 when I turned in the keys on the lease.....with a smile.

i would think the usuall recipe. front mount 70 or 76. with truck mani's supporting fuel system. 60lbers with 317 heads. tons of writeups here, i think theres a hermen mellville sized sticky also. it may seem overwhelming at first but it's super satisfying.

Yeah I have thinking either a T70 master power or T76. You fellas have any idea on what size intercooler or is it basically whatever fits really?

Still haven't got any suggestions on whether to do front or rear mount. Great thing about rear mount is not having to deal with the relocation of stuff. Any thing that has to be relocated up front besides the alternator?
