Default Oil in Exhaust on STS Z06

My buddy just bought a used STS kit for his 02 Z06. We noticed a little oil in the one tail pipe. The seller insisted the car did not smoke or burn any oil at all.
Is there any other way oil could get in the exhaust. The kit was removed from the car and stored in boxed for a couple months. Could the oil collect in the exhaust from sitting the wrong way.
We got a great deal on the kit so we bought it anyways.
If its the seal what is that worth. Can we have it fixed locally or do we need to send it to STS.
The turbos have a nice polished cold side. Is that the standard turbo or are the upgraded from STS. They also have STS cast on the cold side.

We took the turbo into the turbo shop today, they think there is nothing wrong the turbo itself. He thinks for some reason the oil is not being drained fast enough. Maybe the angle of the oil drain hose

Could be the angle or the size of the return hose, but I doubt it. Does he have a restrictor on the feed line and check valve? The restrictor may not be as critical but the check valve for sure. Depending on the size of the feed line he used, he may need a restrictor.
