What intercooler did you get and are you making your own pipes by welding them or doing straights with fabricated 90 45 's and straights with silicone elbows ??

I came off the head unit with a 45 that I cut the one end down to ~2-3", then did a 90, then another 90 into the intercooler.
Coming out of the intercooler, I used a 90 to a 45 up through where the fuses are, then used a 90 degree coupler over to the throttle body then used a 90 degree 3" to 4" coupler into the throttle body.
Once I get it running, I do plan to take it apart this winter and have all of the seems welded at a local shop, but for now, with low boost, the silicone couplers will suffice.

I'm PM you so as not to cause problems.
It should fit. I know I'm going to have to trim off some of the bottom, but I knew that going in. Hopefully later this week I'll be able to get the bumper back on. I've got a to-do list that's pretty long before I'm ready to tune.

I must have done 4-5 months worth of research before doing this. I literally downloaded and saved at least 100 pictures of front mounted intercooler on trans-ams.
I know Dschmitte originally installed his FMIC this way and I think he had to trim the fog light buckets a little bit. What I liked about doing it this way is I still retain some structural rigidity and support, and it places the intercooler closer to the front bumper instead of having a gap.
I'll be taking some more and better pictures as I go.
Oh, and my favorite part about this whole proccess so far.... having my son out in the garage with me helping.
I figure it's a good thing to teach him some garage safety early.

I am jealous you have an eager helper.
I had to fab mine on ramps in the driveway while my family wanted nothing to do with me.
That will be pretty cool if it fits, I was worried about the fog light buckets more than anything in that so definitely looking forward to seeing how you go with it as I have to move my FMIC anyway.

Here are some pictures of what i just did with my car.
I replaced the bumper support with this that i welded up.
Just thought i would share what i did. There was zero bumper trimming except for the center part i cut out for air flow.
Good luck
Paul

Well I test fit the bumper tonight and all I really needed to do was trim out the fog light buckets. It's not 100% done yet as I need to trim about another 1/2" or so, but it's getting there.
FYI, in these pics the bumper is only being held on by one bolt on either side of the lights, so that's why the bumper doesn't seem to look right.
I've got a 10 item to do list before the car is ready to drive like changing plugs, installing 2-bar map sensor, running vacum line to the blow off valve etc, but it's moving along nicely at this point.
