on3 turbo

i believe alot of turbos are made at the same factory, but the parts may be from a different supplier and different names put on them,,,,,Ive read the on3 ceramic ball bearing turbo is made at the same plant as the magnum so go figure...

i plan on running low boost with the 100 percent stock motor then adding my 317 heads with springs and my own hand port work, with more boost, dyno that then put the 370 motor with forged internals in it with 18psi and hopefully make 700 to 750 whp. i know it can be done with these motors and may not evan need 18psi to do it. i deff will keep everyone posted on what i get.

I don't know about the 60mm. But the car I told u that had the 67mm at 11 20s and 76mm at 10.29 133mph has the on 38mm wg and their bov. Runs a 9psi spring and a switchable manual boost controller at 14.5 psi cause its on a 2 bar map. That's the one with the stock heads and all stock suspension and 10 bolt.

So out of curiosity, I disassembled my on3 76mm ceramic ball bearing turbo to see what was inside. I know that a lot of cheap turbos advertise ball bearings and deliver journal bearings and other shortcuts. I wanted to see if the internals were well made. From what I can tell, they are.
Some things I noticed: there is a single ball bearing, the exhaust side is journal. There is a single thrust bearing.
There are machine marks on the compressor indicating they balanced it. There are grinding marks on the turbine too. The shaft tolerances seem very precise, as do the rest of the pieces. It doesn't look like they took any shortcuts making this turbo.

My only concern with ebay wastegates is how long the wastegate will hold up. On an external style gate, the diaphram is what concerns me more than anything. I know in the Tial units they use a nomex diaphram. No clue what might be used in these ebay units. I don't think they would hold closed on a failure like an internal gate actuator might.
