Default Another LS Stang Is Loose

Waiting for a break from the weather to start shaking out the bugs at the track and shot this little vid of the engine idling in the driveway. Used the GoPro default mode 4 which gives a bird's eye view and the audi is barely audible, so you need to crank up the volume. First time using it. Lesson learned.

6.0L with Mahles, Eagle rods, ARP hardware, Stock 317s, TU1 cam, LS1 intake/TB, v-banded truck manifolds, S480/T6/1.32 ar, PTC converter, 1.80 Glide, MT 275 DRs, E85, Bosch 160# Hi-Z injs, Megasquirt3.

Tested the car Friday night but quit after 2 passes. Need some suspension work as the front-end has almost no lift on the launch and causes lots of wheel spin. Also, the PTC converter I was using with my 2JZ is way too loose for the 6.0L, so RPMs climb too fast on the launch, RPMs only drop 700 on the shift and the engine runs over the converter on the big-end. To get a full pass I had to use the WG spring pressure (3.5psi) for the launch and a slow ramp of 2psi/sec. Ran over the converter on the big-end and only gained 20mph in the 2nd-half. Guessing I lost .4-.5-sec with these issues, but with all of that, the car cut a 1.50 and ran 9.60 at only 136+ with only 11.5psi. Not bad for the first full pass, I would say.

Shipped the converter back to PTC Monday, and gonna work on the suspension and swap out the 3.55s for 3.27.

Here is the launch and you can see almost no lift on the nose and hear very little boost on the launch.

Nice combination and great results! I am guessing this is the 96mm turbine wheel?

The car and setup look sick. The car should fly once sorted out.

Turbo is a standard BW S480. 80mm compressor, 96mm turbine in a 1.32 a/r T6 housing.

It does have a muffler. MOF, here is the entire DP/exhaust, LOL.

Swapped out the LS1 intake for a Pro-Flo. Was able to squeeze out 149mph trap and a best of 9.39 with the LS1 intake on only 13.5#, serious launch issues and the wrong converter. Looking to lay down some good numbers in 2013. BTW, no clearance issues with a 2" Cervini hood.

Awesome build. For as little as you are pushing it, it is hauling!
