That link does state GM style though. SO it is a cheap copy. Not a genuine GM sensor.

they are all GM style because of the connector, there are other map sensors, like just the element itself, or honda style etc.

just because it says GM style does not mean it isnt a chinese map sensor sunk into a 1 dollar piece of plastic like the rest of them. they all cost 1 dollar to produce

how much boost can a 3 bar handle? i know 2 bar is 29 psi. but i had a 3 bar on mine and on the dyno last time the 3 bar map took a **** and we couldnt get a 3 bar so we got a 2 bar and i went to 24 psi on a 2 bar and idk what the tuner did to achive this but the car runs fine and the a/f is good. this is also on e85 if that matters

technically a 2-bar is good for 14.7psi, a 3 bar would be 29.4psi. Although people have gone higher.

GM 3 bar sensor reads up to 310kpa.

Of course you can tune beyond this if you wish. But it leaves no room for error if something goes wrong, and leave no option for an overboost cut.

It's little different to people continuing to tune with a maxed out MAF. You can do it, but things will be compromise, especially safety

I use a omni "gm 3 bar style" map sensor. Its the old school brick style. But it works great and it was 1/3rd the price of the newer style oem ones

What about the MAP off of a 2008+ Duramax?
I know my truck runs upper 30 PSI of boost...looking at the sensor it appears the same plug as the stock LSX Map.

Anyone want to try it out and see if it is plug and play for 3 bar???

All of those older block style 3 bar map sensors and the diesel 3.3 bar ones have terrible resolution down low and really only go down to 40 kpa which means decel and cruise areas will be muddy. A variance of a whopping 8% accuracy is about all you can expect at the higher and lower regions of the pressure range as well. At least the newer ZR1 map sensor is a lot better in those areas but putting negative numbers in the LS1 computers doesn't work either for the offset so it would be slightly skewed anyways but at least it's an accurate sensor.

Diesels would never operate under 100kpa, so may not even read vacuum.

Best is relative. The basic GM 3 bar is well tried and tested
