Default MIR track rental yestarday new best and found the limit of my Ebay intercooler

Well I went to Track rental at MIR Friday 111-15-13. I did manage to run a new best with the car. 8.62@157mph. I was really hoping to get 8.5 out of the car this year but it became evident that the car just wasn't gonna let me do it.

The 8.62 pass was on about 19 psi Seeing 175 degree IATs when the ambient temps were around mid 40's

I tried upping the boost a little later in the day to see what I could get the car to do but this was when the intercooler started to show that it was causing me some issues. I kept blowing charge pipes off on the turbo side of the intercooler. (even blowing off pipes that were bead rolled) I can only imagine what kind of pressure was on that side of the intercooler.

I have been debating since going to LS Fest about switching to a Air to Water intercooler over the winter. So I think that is the direction I will be going with the car. I am debating redoing the Hot side in 2.25" pipe over the 2.5" I have now and even changing some placement of things. I also think that motor will come out this winter to get refreshed(it has been un touched for 2 years) Gonna get all new bearings, rings, and Springs. Maybe even a new cam. I will have to see how my budget goes.

Here is a video of my 3 full passes from the day

Add some meth in there with the e85 maybe? But like op said the ebay ic will only go so far before it becomes a restriction.

Adding meth to an A2A is a waste of time at his power level. I bet it picks up .2-.3 and 4-5mph from an A2W. Even after he adds 100lbs

Try spraying the meth into the inlet of the turbo, that should help.

Regardless of meth, you are trying to cram a metric **** ton of air through a shitty intercooler. A quality a2w will do wonders. I bet same boost level it picks up a tenth in the quarter. Congrats Dan, car is doing well.

I bet a quality A2A would help wonders, but nothing can beat a A2W on a track monster.

Thanks guys. I know I have considered adding my Meth kit back on the car but I am just not sure it is worth it. Even if I spray pre turbo I don't think the intercooler can just flow enough air through it to do what I want.

I know and I am just not sure that I can justify spending the money on a good A2A when a A2W isn't that much more. and it Probably better in the long run.

I would also like to note that the car weighted 3485 on that 8.62 pass. The car needs a diet also

Yea I didn't notice much if any difference adding the meth to mine either being on E85. On the truck running gas It helps a lot.

This.^^^^^^^
I tried both long before most of the people on this board were even driving and this is it. A2W is the best for the track but AtoA on the street and alcohol just makes the air to air that much better.
