Default 1972 Turbo LQ4 Nova

Not sure where I should actually put this build thread, but here's my build so far on my '72 Nova.

Another nova guy here. I'll be following along.
Amazing all the different paths to LS turbo swaps.

Yes, for now. I'm considering way down the road running a Holley Dominator.

Here's a couple teaser shots of how the hot side tubing is coming along.

Originally the lower radiator hose routing wasn't an issue, but as the steel came together, it became less and less convenient. I've got some elbows and stainless tubing that should make for some clean routing.
Also, for those of you looking for a cheaper straight neck thermostat housing, I've got an answer for you, stay tuned for some pictures. Keywords: '99 Windstar outlet, '05+ thermostat sans-o-ring, permadry gasket... You do the math, and get it for yourself, then tell your friends and change the world.
Lastly, kinda, my hydroboost modification is almost done, just need to remake the rushrod and bolt it all back together.

Looking good . I'm about done with my turbo kit on my 69 nova . Kinda cool to see everybody 's different ideas on routing all the piping . Very cool I'm also gonna go with the holley dominator setup .

It's all stick welded. I'm pretty unhappy with how that all went down. My buddy convinced me his brother could weld up the hot side for me and he ends up only having an arc welder and he liked to pile welds on top of welds.

Hey man, if it works, it works. I's just giving you a little bit of a hard time. Cool project and keep it up. The next one can be better.

Painted and cleaned up and wrapped the manifolds and the hot side

I bought a 100' roll of wrap and literally used 99' of it.

looks like you will have no issue with boost creep with that wastegate placement. but that is a hard turn into the turbo . im sure it works but im not sure how it will spool.

I left quite a bit of contour in the main turn into the turbo, and then added the wastegate outlet on to the turn. It's a preliminary design...

CXracing makes a 90* turn flange adapter I'll probable run on a future project which will drastically simplify the fabrication process... but I'll try this one out and see what happens...

Im sure the zip ties on the exhaust wrap are only temporary, lol. I purchased a car recently where they used zip ties on the exhaust wrap permanently....well for a little while. lol. Project looks good. Reading these Nova builds is motivating me to resurrect mine again.

Ya, they were only there to hold the wrap until my steel ties came in.
