Totally random question, but turbo cars with all the heat wrap looks so shitty, I wonder instead of leaving it to discolor into a tan sort of looking colored wrap, I wonder if you could use high temp black paint and spray over the wrap just to give it an even color?

The paint might last on the wrap since it's not in direct contact with the headers/manifolds but I don't know for certain. You can buy black header wrap these days which might be a better option.

I used the DEI titanium wrap and even after many heat cycles it retains a nice golden color. It is a little more expensive up front but looks great with no coating over it.

Ya DEI Titanium is what I used on my old build. Keeps a nice colour and is WAY better to work with that generic ebay garbage. Also stays together a lot better than more regular wrap.

I always paint mine with bbq grill paint. Helps keep out moisture. I coat all my hotsides with it too. Use a .032 SS wire to help keep it nice and tight as well. After a year of use it pretty much looks the exact same. Just have to install it carefully and not let it fray. The supplies SS "zip ties" alot of kits include are total garbage IMO and won't hold the wrap tight enough to prevent fraying.
I've also heard of installing it wet, and as it drys it shrinks up tight. Mixed opinions on it though and I haven't tried it.

May PM "Wicked69" His brand of wrap was installed wet and he loved it. Said it dried hard almost like a cast...
Just to clarify I use the cheap Ebay glass junk, not titanium wrap. $21 for 50ft of 2".

I wet installed my titanium DEI wrap and then the next day after they dried I sprayed them in DEI silicone spray. i just pulled the wrap off yesterday because I am going to re do my down pipes. The pipes look great, no cracks or rusting through. Plan to sell the old down pipes now. I also plan to do my new down pipes the same way. I think that tan titanium looks like ****.
