Stock LS2 and a TC78, is the turbine too small?
Getting ready to do a build on my daily driver LS2 GTO. Using all parts that I have laying around, just needed to buy a BOV. Build consists of...
Stock 95k mile LS2/T56
Upgraded valve springs
Tial 44mm gate
RPS 50mm BOV
60lb injectors
eBay A2A 3" intercooler
2bar speed density tune
TC78
Build with be a front mount on the drivers side with a 3" down pipe into my SLP catback.
Now here is my delma. I feel like the 68mm turbine wheel on the TC78 is a bit small for the 6.0. Would it be worth looking for say a turbonetics 7875 to use even though I already have a TC78 sitting here? Only looking to push around 500whp on 91 pump gas and maybe a bit more in the future with meth. I dont mind spending the extra money if it will be easier on parts to go with the bigger exhaust wheel but I'm not looking to break any records. I know a lot of people have used TC78s on 6.0 in the past, just looking to put together the best combo with what I can.

For 500whp and its your daily, that will be a great turbo. My Tc76 made 585 on a lq4 with a cam and it has great street manners and very fast spool, but I want more. With 585 it was able to manage a 10.1 @ 139 so the turbo can make some steam. How much more are you wanting in the future?
