370/91mm/4l80 bird
Posting up my new build, I have toy'd with the idea of putting a turbo car together for a few years, So here we go..
The motor is a 370ci lq4 based .030 over, wiseco -3 cc pistons, callies rods, and stock Ls3 heads, and head gaskets. Using an Ls3 intake, and home building a T6 setup, with a bumper exit exhaust. I have a pair of precision 39mm gates, that I plan to use at the end of each manifold, I figure 78mm worth of gate will be enough to keep boost down while I figure things out..
I am debating on air to water or air to air plus meth?? The car is not a daily driver, but I do take it out on the weekends, it is mostly just a drag car... So I am leaning towards the air to water, thinking that will give me lower IATs and if I need to bring them down past that, I can add meth at that point? So far I am looking at the frozen boost setup, with a water box, cobra pump, and their 4" core setup, if I need to upgrade past that later on, I might change things up, but I am going to mount the water box behind the passenger seat, then run the intercooler upfront, just running the water hoses out to it.
The turbo is going to be a 91mm Turbonetics that I am picking up here locally, I have seen a few of these running on similar setups and I like what I am seeing so far. I am sure there are better units than this, but at the time, the price is right, and it will suit my needs.
I will post pics and info as I go, I am in the process of taking the headers and exhaust off the car, and installing the stand up Radiator, so pics too follow..
Goals for the car:
1000+Hp @ roughly 15-18# of boost, maybe see if I can push that 20# mark?
sub 9 sec 1/4 mile..
Looking to drop the weight to 3400lbs
I am open to ideas and pointers.. so PLEASE feel free..

LOL, I dont want to get ahead of myself, I would like to break the 7.99 mark, but for now, I am setting the bar lower and I will raise it up as I go.. just kinda one step at a time.

Just a photo update...
I finally got my air to water setup in, looks decent, I'm in the process of moving so I'm waitin on doing the hotside... Plus I'm thinking of buying a nice TIG welder with my tax return this year.
