Have you guys took a peek at the bottom end to see if the rods look ok?

No, we've mentioned it a time or two, but then we decided ignorance is bliss.

Thanks! We're very pleased with how it turned out.

good luck!
The only downside to that is we're pretty lazy. lol

I feel like we got everything out of the PT88 that we could. We're just hoping the engine has a few more passes in her,

If you were rolling out 5.09's before with the old setup, I see no reason why you couldnt pull into the 4.90's with the improvments that have been done. With the right tune/setup/air I bet you can do it, but the question is how many times you can do it before the motor gives....

Thanks guys! Yeah, I do think the methanol helps. Less chance of detonation. Like Hellbents10 said, good tune up and we only spin it @7000 rpm. I contribute most of our success to dumb luck. When you meet us you'll see what I mean. Lol

Maybe I missed it, but what rpm are you turning the motor to? Ported stock heads, pretty aggressive cam profile?

I'd agree it's a stock bottom end. I can't count how many guys went from heads/cam ls1s (and still do) that change out the rod bolts when they do a cam swap that makes power past 6300 and they still were/are considered stock bottom ends.

We turn it about 7k. The cam isn't super aggressive, it was actually ground for a nitrous 5.3, we just had it on the shelf, so we used it. I'll get the specs.
