If you were rolling out 5.09's before with the old setup, I see no reason why you couldnt pull into the 4.90's with the improvments that have been done. With the right tune/setup/air I bet you can do it, but the question is how many times you can do it before the motor gives....

Thanks guys! Yeah, I do think the methanol helps. Less chance of detonation. Like Hellbents10 said, good tune up and we only spin it @7000 rpm. I contribute most of our success to dumb luck. When you meet us you'll see what I mean. Lol

Maybe I missed it, but what rpm are you turning the motor to? Ported stock heads, pretty aggressive cam profile?
I'd agree it's a stock bottom end. I can't count how many guys went from heads/cam ls1s (and still do) that change out the rod bolts when they do a cam swap that makes power past 6300 and they still were/are considered stock bottom ends.

I'd agree it's a stock bottom end. I can't count how many guys went from heads/cam ls1s (and still do) that change out the rod bolts when they do a cam swap that makes power past 6300 and they still were/are considered stock bottom ends.
