Did you every figure out the cause of the trouble, boost leak/pulley issue or whatever? Trying to see what these AES 390/F1A combos are putting down. If something ever happens to my motor I'll be looking for one : )

Sorry for delay. Checked for leaks and nothing, I went to the bigger 8.65 pulley and also went to 127 injectors. So far while tuning in only seeing 10.5 psi at 4700 rpms with no filter. I saw about 15 psi at around 6800 rpms; just I balling it didnt have hp tuners connected. Still no satisfied with results

I actually don't think it's too far off. Your **** weighs 4000 lbs.

To give you an idea of what 4000 lbs does for your et/mph

My truck is a hair over 4000lb (4100), I run a solid roller 408 with an f2. At 15lbs it has trapped around 145. A far cry from a run of the mill aes390/f1a serpentine set up.

This sounds like what I'm going through. My best pass MPH was 130.9 with a 1.66 60ft. Boost peaked at 13lbs with a 4.13" blower pulley and 8" crank pulley. Needless to say i was very disappointed. This was through a 4l80e and 9" with 3.50 gears on drag radials (<<<as it sits in pic). I had to give it around 65% throttle or so out the hole or it would just spin. I recently swap gears to 3.70s and had my torque converter re-stalled to 4000 rpms from 3200ish. When I shifted at 6600 my revs dropped 1700 rpms. Now it suppose to drop down only 1000-1200 rpms keeping me in the sweet spot (I think). We'll see what's what when I get back to the track.

Thats a 14 mph big diffrence for almost the same weight. Granted I still have everything in the car cd changer jack seat and everything else. Ill do some weight reduction and give everyone the results after I go to the track again. I just figured my F1a would give me more psi.

I haven't read the entire thread. So what is your best et/mph at 4000 lbs. Yes, 14 mph is a big deal........but going from an f1a to an f2 is a big deal.

Andy, you'll have to let us know how it does when you take it up to red line. Bob

Andy, what is your fuel pressure at 6500 rpm? 15 psi at 6500 rpm, what is your impeller speed at? Bob

Impellar speed is a little over 74000 rpms (3944) first time running it with the 8.65. Might have to go with a bigger pulley. I didnt see the fuel pressure. Why do you ask about fuel pressure?

I didn't think you were spinning it that hard since you're only at 15 psi. I just went into my records and saw you have the ProCharger front mount. I was thinking perhaps you have an Ebay intercooler instead. At times I've seen them be restrictive and produce low boost levels. Unless your valvesprings are shot, collapsed catalytic converters, or something like that, I'd at a loss as to why your boost isn't any higher than it is. We saw 18 to 20 psi with my 408/F-1A combination.

I asked about fuel pressure as I didn't think you were spinning it as hard as you are, and you're at 80% duty cycle. I thought perhaps your fuel pressure is down, but with your impeller speed where it is at, your duty cycle is just fine. Bob

That's it!!!!!!!!!! I didn't know you were so far up there! If you get your car down to a track where it's below 1000 ft, you're going to see a huge difference in mph, and you'll make a lot more boost! Bob

Thats great Bob thanks!! Its time to upgrade again not happy yet. Can you pm me a price for an F1x. I think this block can handle a bit more. You think the f1x could get me to 20 psi here at my elevation?

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to be at least 20 psi with an F-1X. You'll have to stand up your radiator to make room for an F-1X. The F-1X has a 5.0" inlet opening, where your F-1A has a 3.75" inlet, so you're going to have to do some fabrication on the inlet side. The F-1X has a 3.50" outlet, where your F-1A has a 3.0" outlet.

Andy, have you seen my thread on the new F-1A? https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...-9-volute.html If you sent in your blower to have it converted to the new F-1A, you would see a lot more boost and power out of it. One guy reportedly bolted on the new F1A in place of his old F1C and picked up way over 100 rwhp. At some point you're going to start pushing water with your four bolt block/head combination, and if I were you I'd go with the upgrades for your F-1A. Please call me for pricing. Thanks. Bob
