LQ4 with F1X Camaro project no more(selling parts), switching to C5Z and YSI
#21
Ordered some new parts. Decided E-85 is the fuel of use. ID2000 injectors have been obtained for the setup. Still deciding on the rest of the fuel system, hopefully will start ordering those items within the next week or two. Also decided to go with the Hi-rise intake instead of the mid-rise from Holley. Still waiting on the Schoneck bracket to arrive. The F-1X is present and accounted for. BMR sway bars and Nick Williams 102 throttle body are on order. Transmission items will be ordered with tax return. Just a little update.

A little bit of an update. Most of the fuel system has been ordered. The only fuel related items left are the odds and ends that will come when it is all being assembled. I also ordered a NRG quick release and OMP steering wheel. The Camaro is taking a short break while the Vette gets a Vindicator cam and TSP Longtubes and offroad X-pipe. The quest for over 140mph in the 1/2 mile is strong. More parts for the Camaro will start being ordered again in a couple of weeks.

The Dan Schoneck built bracket for the F-1X has arrived. It looks great! The BMR sway bars and new steering wheel and release have also arrived. I'm not sure when the Holley hi-rise or the 102 Nick Williams throttle body will show up. I did make a little bit of progress on ordering some more parts. MGW shifter and black Hurst shifter **** along with some double adjustable LCA's to replace the aged purple BMR lca's. The only parts that I know I still need are the transmission, clutch, new brake setup, new rims and tires, and roll cage.

The Vette is done with the cam and exhaust mods. The numbers are 438rwhp and 408 lb tq. That should do for now. All parts previously ordered have arrived except the intake manifold. Just ordered 2" ARH longtubes. Next in line to be purchased is the transmission.

I can't remember the exact price. I had it included with the Procharger setup. I think it was about 2k give or take. It looks great and is beefy. There shouldn't be any bracket flex.
Transmission and meth kit should be purchased within the next 2 weeks.

Transmission, and Meth kit have been purchased. The next thing on the list is wheels and tires, then the clutch. I would have been a little further along, but I made the comment that if I didn't hit 140MPH in the half mile with the Vette, I would purchase a new intake manifold and throttle body. Well, a slipping clutch prevented the 140 MPH run. The best I did was 139.57mph. Just my luck. Progress on the Camaro will continue withing the next few weeks.

I'm not sure yet. I should find out the 1/4 mile time when Streetcar Takeover comes through in August. The mile will be a little further out. Either way, it is still pretty slow.

I have to admit, I've been curios how my truck would do at these events. Its been 154 mph in the 1/4. Although my newest set up is not exactly designed for 20+ seconds of full throttle. I can imagine that mile racing can put serious strain on the motor from the heat.

I wasn't sure how slow 140 in the 1/2 was, thats why I was asking.

Granted he was turbo and you are procharged
Don't know exact numbers off hand for your truck or his
But I would agree that 20+ seconds wide open would cause a huge strain

Well, I have decided to go a different route with forced induction. I will no longer be using the Camaro. Instead, I will be using the C5Z as the vehicle. In saying that, there will be items that will be sold or returned. All are still new in the box, so it shouldn't be too difficult. If you might be interested in parts like the Schoneck bracket, F-body F1X procharger kit, ARH 2" Long tube headers, BMR adj LCA, C5Z brake conversion, T-56 transmission, or Holley Hi Rise intake and Nick Williams throttle body, let me know. I'm still shooting for 1xxx rwhp but with the Z06. It would be the better choice overall for the project.

This is a great deal for somebody, as the Schoneck bracket and other parts take time to acquire once they are ordered. Bob

I agree Bob. I waited a few months for the bracket and supercharger setup. I'm hoping I can get it sold fast so I can move on with the Vette.
