Default Little or No turbo lag from a single set-up....on my 390ci....Possible...?

I know theres a lot of factors that go into building the perfect combo.......but what turbo size is best for the 390ci....through a 4L80E. Id like to make 800/900 RWHP.

My friend just built a single turbo T6 complete turbo kit that retains factory A/C and factory sway bar........and he said he will build me one too.....so I'm thinking of going single instead of Modular Turbo TT kit.....

But its a 100% street car......Id like to have a smooth acceleration from down low all the way up to top speed highway pulls to 160mph.......
I really don't want that big slam of boost coming in at a certain rpm....

Is it possible.....?

I'd step down to a T4 turbo like a pt76gts for your power goals and spooling needs.

Ill be using full time E85 also......iron block LQ9.

If I can make more power that's cool......

Are you saying a T4 will be better for getting rid of lag......compared to the T6...?

S480 maybe....?

7685 for those cubes in my mind. I have the 7675 on my 5.3 forged motor comes on super fast on a rear mount. This its to small for the 390.

76mm will choke that motor up top. With My pt7675 on my 5.7 I have no lag. I think something a little bigger and a correct spec'ed cam would do you wonders I'd get together with a vendor and have them put a combo together that would work well.

Same turbo here on a 383 and it has almost zero lag and runs like a freight train up top. That's where why I would look. The almost no lag full boost pull were astounding to me. Made mid 600s on 9 psi. About to go meth and biggeer pumps and up it to 18 psi. Can not wait!

I have a Precision T76GTS for sale. It was on my 383 and there was no long as mentioned above and continued to pull.

yes and yes.

The trade off being a lower power curve.

Yeah, I believe that the GTS comes with the 85mm turbine wheel. The 75mm turbine wheel is too small.

That's a class turbo which would give him more RPM up top but laggier down low due to the big wheel.

The s476 won't be laggy on a 390 auto. I have a six speed rear mount 7675 . 96 on a 5.3 and it spools real fast.

The hard pull up top is most important to me. I'm sure that if the trade off was some loss of down low power....it still would be all the tires can handle from a dig or from a slow roll into the throttle.......

You are talking apples and oranges. Your turbo has a 75mm turbine vs the 92 or whatever mm of the s476 that I'm talking about. If I'm not mistaken, there are smaller turbine wheels available for the S400 also.

Your thread title and this post contradict each other.
