I guess I could also just force 3rd in hptuners for testing purposes.

Keep an eye on trans temps if you do!

Absolutely. I have been doing some reading and seen where several guys have fried their trans being on any kind of brake for too long in gear.

Trans got HOT quick. Shot up to over 220. Thankfully I was watching it and laid off of it. Starting to wonder if my 10x15" cooler is enough of if I need more. Good part was in 3rd gear, just commanding it through hptuners I was able to get up to like 7 psi and get that area of the map tuned. Probably had never been visited before, haha.

For this testing, why not run the garden hose over the cooler while testing?

So you used the VCM controls to adj fuel and timing while on the two step in third? Or did you just use that to command third gear?

What's it do in low gear?

Good work.

Haha, good idea other than the huge puddle the tires would be sitting in. Have not tested it with the two step and 3rd yet. I was just doing some tuning while forcing it in 3rd. Got it up to 7 psi and 4000 rpms without spinning the tires. Things were getting hot so I let it sit for a while with just the fans going and then when it cooled down a bit cut it for the night.

Ah, got it. Hard to hit many of the conditions possible in the table isn't it?

These were definitely areas of the map not visited much if any before.

Well little more testing tonight. Once testing and tuning those areas in 3rd that would never probably have been seen without 3rd or the 2 step, I then put the car on the 2 step and now even at 2800 it was pushing through the brakes when I went anywhere close to 50% throttle or more. This was crazy since before I could hold 2800 without issue. I really thought on the 2 step I could hold more. In third I could hold 4000 without issues at 7-8 psi! Pretty cool. So I backed the 2 step down to 2600ish. Held even the nittos (slicks are being a pain in the ****, but fixed this week). Even at 2600 rpms I was able to make about 3 psi. For having 2.5" pipes and a S480, 3 psi at 2600 rpms is pretty cool. So that in and of itself was a vast improvement as before at 2800-2900 I was not even cracking into boost at all just going off the foot brake. More testing in the AM. I will let you guys know how it goes. Maybe even a video or two.

I ran tonight. I need to be on the two step longer. It was making just 3 psi. And my twiddles to the timing and fueling missed the mark.

I did run 9.58 though. New best. But the mph was off a touch on the back half.

I need more like 7-8 psi to get the car going. So it doesn't do the turbo thing! Which is move decent for 20 feet then blow the tires off.

Thanks!
1.54 best.
I'll review the logs more, tweak and try again.
Not the simplest task with the factory ECU. At least not for me yet.

good run ron she is moving.

I am doing the same thing as you trying to get the launch/2 step boost working. last week I was getting it spooling but no boost yet so I need to raise my 2 step a little but I can only get 2000 before the tires spin. . im beginning to see why stock48 runs a glide. that 1.76 gear helps him hold it back . keep up the good work it's flying.
