Default 5.3 which heads ? Thanks

I am mocking up a front mount turbonetics t-70 with
.96 ar exhaust . It's going to be completely stock 5.3 with 2-1/2 "crossover . My question is while removing the 862 heads to install MLS gaskets and head studs . Would I benefit by going with a set of good stock 853 heads from an old ls1 of mine ? I plan on trying to run around 10 psi . Does the 2" valve and drop in compression help ? The SONOMA is light weight . So I think a little power loss off boost won't matter much to me . Thanks

Leave the 862's....they will work fine for the setup. People have had good success with the heads. How much power are you trying to make at the end of the day?

Default Turbonetics t70 .96ar

I got the turbo in a trade for my long tubes . And the 5.3 is completely stock . So for now I was hoping to use that turbo . With a 3" air to air intercooler . With around 12 # . Then down the road step up to forged rods and Pistons with other work like port work , custom grind and bigger t4 turbo .

Yeah for those power goals I would not change heads at all. Check out some stuff that Denmah has done with a completely stock 5.3.
