Default Oil restrictor or No? Billet S480

Can someone school me on if I should run a oil restrictor on my S480? I hear some guys run them on S480s but most do not. Can someone give me a definite answer or the theory behind it please?

Thanks for the input!!!!

Lots of variables here. with a -4 feed line and 60-80psi at WOT, you will normally not need a restrictor. Unless you plan on extreme oil pressure or have a smoking/leaking problem that won't go away, we never recommend a restrictor.

My opinon is if you are running a restrictor on a journal bearing turbo than you are putting a bandaid on another issue. Some guys do it and i think garret reccomends it as a "fix" for certain applications (excessive oil pressure.)

In no way would i reccomend anyone go out and buy a restrictor for their JB turbo with out do the following two things first.

A. running it without one to see if it has issues

B. upgrading or appropriately sizing your drain

I was doing some random web reading and saw where some people were running restrictors. But the way Borg passages are setup I thought it would not be necessary to run a restrictor. But some people are over achievers and have their own theories.

The only one you really need to be listening to is the manufacturer. If Borg says NO than that's the awnser.
