Default XS power bov an wastegate are they any good

I got my v2 huron speed kit with the xspower bov and wastegate is the quality good compared to tial and turbo smart. I got a tial bov from my sts system wondering if I should change them should i be good running them I can use my tial 50mm of my sts kit but I can't use the waste gate off there since it's a 38mm and my new kit is a 44mm n up

I personally would rather buy a quality wastegate.

If you hold one next to a more expensive unit like a Turbosmart you will see some quality differences here and there distinguishing them from one another. However I have personally ran the XS-Power gates and BOV's on my personal car with not a single issue. We have sold hundreds of units as well with excellent success and only a few sent back with some quality issues. Hopefully this helps make your decision. As mentioned you can see they aren't quite as nice as the top brands as expected for the price, but we haven't had issues with them either. If we did, it would be a huge hassle on our end and we would not sell them

My personal recommendation is for a good mix and match by doing a top brand wastegate and an XS-Power BOV.

It is a 50mm valve so it will flow on par with a Tial 50mm BOV, Turbosmart Race-Port, etc.

Thumbs up xspower

The xspower on I got looks great and quality is there for sure. I got a 50mm and it is a beast. I really like it a lot. It has my vote.

I am using the xs supplied wg/bov with the v1 ac kit and both have been working flawlessly. Eventually would like to upgrade but no issues with the xs.

Mine works great, I took it apart and it appears to be a good quality piece. It's almost identical to the RPS 50mm.

The quality of the made in China stuff has improved vastly over the years....

I wouldn't hesitate to use there exhaust products(exhaust systems,headers,downpipes).

I'd probably try one of there turbos on a high mileage motor so if it came apart and sent anything thru te oil,I wouldn't be out a ton.

Wastegates and fuel pumps?? NO WAY!!! A wastegate hangs closed and the boost goes to heaven, you're SOL.....I know they rarely fail but a $50 WG could easily take out a $5k engine......

Fuel pumps?? Walbro has a hard enough time getting them to live,I'll buy name brand becuase dropping the tanks a bitch. If a fuel pump fails,it's likely to leave u on the side of the road, rarely do the fail other ways but it's possible....

In a few more years,I'm sure the quality will be there....

Hell,u could even use name brand diaphragms in knock off products....

Don't waste your money on eBay cheap gates it goes on the most important part of your build yes some guys get away with them but it's not worth it in my opinion. In the last week a buddy of mine has xs power gates and one leaked so bad co2 blew right by and wouldn't hold any boost made a nice wasted day at the track also another has TiAL knock offs that have given him problems all year long so getting real ones. Spend the money and get TiAL, TurboSmart or something along those lines

The answer to this is very very simple.

Running a $400 junkyard engine? Use ebay wastegates.
If you can afford a $4k shortblock, you can afford something better than a $90 gate.

Definitely not something you want to go cheap on, I originally had a Ebay gat and BOV but after some though ending up going w/ JGS.

This goes hand in hand with the procomp/ apher head studs compared to the ARP ones. Just get the best you can afford. I personally use XS power on my car

I am running an XSPower gate with no issues. Holds 8 lbs of pressure throughout entire pull. However, my XSPower BOV isn't working. I've only had the setup going a couple of days, and it sounds like the BOV isn't opening. I'm hearing compressor surge.

I think the BOV came with two different springs. I left the one that came in it to start with, but it has another in the box. Does anyone know if I might need to swap out to the other spring? Has anyone else had to do this with their BOV?

I got it working. Just swapped out the stock spring, and all is good now

BOV seems nice, had mine for 2 years, WG though seized up beyond repair after about 6 months, did about 6-8 back to back high way pulls when it went.
