Default LS1 bed mount single turbo

Hey guys,

I'm from Australia I've got a 2012 Toyota hilux (like a Tacoma) it has a 5.7 ls1 swapped into it.

So now I want to turbo it.
The turbo I have is less then ideal but the price was right and I like making things from spare stuff laying around the shop.
It's a turbo from a cummins diesel truck, compressor wheel is 72mm-100ishmm and exhaust wheel is in the mid 80's I don't remember exactly. I'm aiming for 500-600whp so here's where the questions start!

I'm thinking hsv exhaust manifolds from a Holden commodore (they are a 1-3/4" Tri-y design) into twin 2-1/4" run to the turbo right behind the cab, then single 4" out of the turbo.

On the intake side 5" into the turbo because it's already that size, then single 3" out of the turbo to the throttle body.

All we do is n/a stuff and the occasional turbo vehicle is always conventional front mount turbo, so I'm guessing all these sizes any help will be appreciated thanks!!

i would say try to keep the exhaust running to the turbo fairly small to keep the exhaust speed up...

but on top of that we took my friends stock 2010 4.8 pickup truck and put a turbo underneath, it was like 2.5 ish into a single 3.25 ish size, we put that strait into the turbo and it worked great, truck made 615whp and went high 10s foot brake 4700lbs

we used 2.5 inch piping also on the intercooler system

2.5” cold side piping is more than enough for 600whp and easier to work with. 2.25” hotside will work great as well.

Twin 2" would be better IMO. Went 8.88 with stock manifolds and 2" to each side of the scroll. 370 ci

Baby hot side is all that's needed. Much easier to run the 2" piping too.

I have another turbo,
Intake side is 75mm/102.5mm
Exhaust side is 84mm/93mm

How do yous think this will work?

Also I've gone off the rear mount idea. There enough room for front mount I'll just move the rad forward.

The holset turbo has a weird flange, you could probably make a t4 flange work for it with a little effort though

The other turbo sounds about s475 sized
Should work pretty good for what you want to do

I've decided on the holset as cummins 15l engines use them and there is 3 different sized turbos to suit different hp models so I have some cheap and easy options! And the flange is no trouble I'll just lasercut one

Not 100% sure, if it were me I'd go 2".
