So if anyone has a old style lq4 piston/rod hanging around, I could really use one LOL

Might have beter luck buying a complete set in the classifieds. FYI the newer style lq4/ly6 pistons have the better rods on them and are fairly cheap on here. Thye are dished with exhaust valve reliefs in them for easy identification also. Thats whats in my late lq4 engine thats currently boosted.

The first 2 LQ4 engines I bought had several just like that(a bit worse actually) when I took them apart. I was beginning to think they were made that way. I do have a couple that aren't broken if you need one.

Yea it hit the concrete floor at just the perfect angle apperently. It was one of those moments where i was so mad that i started laughing, but deep down i wanted to drop kick the engine stand straight into my quarter panel and set it all on fire, LOL.

If i were to upgrade to the newer style piston/rod, would my brand new rings and bearings work? Im thinking that might be my best option because on top of this broken piston, the coatings look like crap.
