365"|SXE Billet S366's|Glide|Holley EFI
build has changed so much my previous thread was just a cluster **** so decided to make a new one. Goal is pretty simple for the car, get it running by the end of the year lol.
Engine
Half filled iron block 365"
Callies crank/rods
wiseco 4.005 Pistons
morel link bar lifters
7/16 double tapered pushrods
Hydraulic roller
stock rockers trunion upgrade
WCCH LSA Heads
Ridiculous inlet temps from non intercooled E85 does scare me with a brand new motor so I'll be using this motor first.
Gen 4 5.3
215/215 112*
EBay studs
Ls9 gaskets
BTR springs
Stock 853's
Engine management
Holley EFI
Holley Dash
Pulse leash EFI bump box
RaceWires complete wiring board
Drivetrain
FTI lvl 5 Glide 1.69' First
Custom PTC Converter
Moser 9" 35
3.70
275's
Suspension
TRZ anti roll bar
TRZ adjustable uppers and lowers
Strange double adjustables
Strange brakes
Turbo kit
321 stainless turbo kit
New Borg warner SXE billet s366's .91 AR turbine housing
Turbosmart 40mm Gates
Precision 64mm BOV

If it sells it will be funding this cars completion and I'll do something with the el Camino for the street. Likely gen 4 4.8 and small turbo.

Are you opposed to using an intercooler? Space limitations?
Also, any special considerations taken with the cooling system to compensate for the half filled block?

i see so many guys going really fast non intercooled on SBE motors i have really been wanting to try it which is why i am going to put the 5.3 in it first and see how it forks out.
as far as cooling system goes for the half filled block, my fab guy is building me a pretty thick radiator with fan shroud and large fans... it will be as good as its gonna get. im in texas so regardless in the summer it probably wont get driven. its a race car so i probably wont drive it much on the street anyways but i might take it out here and there during the winter.

my next debate is fuel system. Holley 160's will be used for injectors but still considering fuel pumps.
i have been looking at surge tanks and radiums system is very nice. thinking triple 465's will be PLENTY of fuel for 1300rwhp... i actually spoke to someone who said triple 465's one e85 should handle around 1800rwhp.
im not familiar with surge tanks, do you guys know if an actual in tank pump is required to feed the surge tank? or can a small inline pump outside of the tank be used instead?

Holy F'ing fuel pump(s), Batman! I would imagine that will do the trick. I don't know about the internal versus external pump feeding the surge tank, though, sorry.
