Default Magnuson Heartbeat supercharger results on bone stock C7

I just got finished installing and tuning a Magnuson Heartbeat 2300 supercharger on my bone stock 2016 Corvette Z51 M7 Stingray and the results were fantastic! By bone stock I mean no mods. Stock air box, stock exhaust manifolds, stock cats, stock axle back. The only modification to it was the Magnuson Heartbeat 2300 Supercharger and my tune.

Baseline stock dyno: 403rwhp/426rwtq

Magnuson Heartbeat dyno: 562rwhp/591rwtq

A gain of 159rwhp/165rwtq. Keep in mind, this was with the stock pulley supplied by Magnuson running 93 octane fuel. Boost was between 6.5-7.0 psi throughout the curve.

I am certainly a big believer in centrifugal superchargers having made 800+ rwhp with an ECS 1500 on my 2013 C6, but I wanted to see how my curve stacked up against a similar car on the same dyno. The second graph is my 2016 C7 with the Heartbeat vs a 2014 C7 with an ECS 1500 supercharger running the stock restrictor and American Racing 1 7/8" long tube headers. You can see how the heartbeat absolutely destroys the power of the centrifugal supercharger at all rpm.

So basically, I have Z06 power and torque for $7995 + installation and tune. No other mods needed. Sure you can remove the restrictor on the centrifugal to make more power, but my Heartbeat Supercharger is running a 3.5" upper pulley and only making 6.5-7.0psi. A 3.0" upper pulley would add a ton of power and torque. So if you've wondered what a Heartbeat could do on a bone stock engine, here are your independent results.

Special thanks go to Mike Burrell from Calvo Motorsports for his sweet pricing on the supercharger and to Kurt Decker (98Aggie) for his expert installation. It looks totally OEM.

Wow, nice numbers. That torque curve has little to no curve to it! That should make for a fun driver.

500 FT LBS at 2000 RPM must feel nice. Those are stout numbers for bone stock plus blower. How much do you think and mild cam, intake, and exhaust would add?

How far do you think you could push it on 93 octane-nice results, esp the torq if its a stick car, prob pulls well in higher gears at low speeds
I kind of miss the lower end power from my superchargers since going turbo

A cam with a 33% more fuel lobe would give the car more head room to add power. A cold air intake would probably not add anything because Magnuson supplies a very nice smooth tube to the intake and the air filter gains are probably small. Some long tube headers would add 20+rwhp.

I think you can push it to around 10-11psi on 93 octane and have no issues from the short block. This would put the engine in the 650/700 rwhp/rwtq range with headers, cam and more boost. The instant torque at any rpm is intoxicating for sure.

Patrick G these are awesome results! Super Chevy did an article on the Heartbeat a month or two ago and caught my interest. It looked like a major improvement over the old 2300, plus it has better cooling capability if I'm not mistaken. Traction has to be hard to come by...

Great improvement for a bone stock setup. Imagine letting that thing breath a little better lol

Damn I really wish AZ had better gas. We are lucky to break 510 rwhp out here with the same combo with our 91 oct **** gas and the heat.

Great results! I wanted to put a Heartbeat on a LS3 in a F-body, but the heat management & fitment killed that idea

Haven't been on in awhile and just saw this thread. Nice turnout Pat! Hard to argue with a roots type for the instant tq and throttle response, especially with a manual Trans. I'm curious, did you alter any of the VV timing curves to help optimize the power output or keep detonation in check?

Jason
