Built an air dam out of Vigoro plastic garden edge trim molding lol.

The air dam is both functional and easy to repair if I scrape it. It is simply screwed to a piece of aluminum angle I contoured to the bumper and fender. The aluminum angle is held in place by existing bumper support bolts. I forgot to take a picture before I screwed the plastic on.

Man, what an awesome build. I have a buddy with a Chevy II that is doing a frame off resto on. He has a 5.3 he is building for it, and I am trying to convince him to do a turbo.

No reason not to turbo it. There's plenty room and it will be way more fun with a turbo.

I have an 8.8 coming and the suspension parts I ordered 3 months ago are finally shipping. I was considering a methanol injection system and a two step and when I totaled it all up, it just made more sense to get an MS3 Gold Box with LSX plug and play harness from EFI source. So I ordered the Gold Box just now. Hopefully the A2W circuit will be done by the time the gold box arrives. I'm looking forward to running Sweet Pea on flex fuel.

I'll probably have to Velcro the Bible to the dash.

Green body color matched Kleenex box on the rear package tray and a few assorted stickers.

Vintage 1960's cooler has been waterproofed with truck bed liner, Rule 2000 pump installed and plumbed.

Even the drain line has been plumbed into the ice box.

Rule 2000 pump flows plenty enough to keep her cool with ice in the tank, and she seems to be water tight!

There will be a switch to activate the pump since it won't need to be on for regular cruising around town. I want to control the pump from the driver seat to get maximum cooling right before a run no matter how long it takes to stage.

Thanks guys. Gotta credit Cameron Vic for the cooler idea. I want to make draining and filling with ice as easy and quick as possible.
Everything from the patina 4 door chassis to the vintage cooler was picked out carefully while trying to make it look thrown together to maximize the sleeper effect.

Cooler mounted and secured in the trunk. It came out exactly as I had envisioned.

Gold Box has arrived and the harness looks really nice. Plan is to get her tuned on 93 octane once the Gold Box is wired up and sort out the suspension (90/10 front shocks, Calvert mono leafs and cal trac bars on the way). Once she is dialed in on pump 93, the fuel system will be upgraded for e85 and she'll go flex fuel. If everything goes smoothly, she might even run in true street at the Memphis Super Chevy Show in April.

Almost scraped my front spoiler lol.
Turbo spools no problem on the trans brake. Boost activated cutout also opens wide at 4psi.

What radials are they? The "S/S", "R"s or the original M/T drag radials? How'd they work in the rain?

They are 235/60/15 MT radials. I got them used from a friend who ran them in an x235 race last year. He used them to put his 4th gen Camaro on the back bumper so I know they'll put down whatever power this little 4.8 can dish out. X235 went to Hoosiers only this year which is how I ended up with these.
They weren't terrible in the rain but I'm not suggesting they are good for wet driving. Sweet Pea has a 4.8, 2.70 rear gear and a spool so she is a turd from a stop and different than most set ups right now. I tested out the transbrake and the tires spun instantly with a 4.5psi boost launch.

I love it!!! Can not wait to get my project on the road.

Looking forward to some full throttle videos, timeslips, or something to that effect.

I am looking forward to full throttle videos and timeslips too! Realistically, those are about a month away based upon what needs to be done and the weather here. I want to get the gold box installed and tuned, then get the suspension done (shocks, mono springs, caltracs). I've decided to keep the drum brakes for now but the right front drum needs to be turned down or replaced because it is out of round. I'll probably run it with the 2.70 geared and spooled 10 bolt to start. I'm still waiting for the 8.8 to show up so it can be shortened and get some 3.31 gears. If everything else is done before the rear end, then that will probably wait until stage 2 because I'm itching to have some fun with Sweet Pea.

Gold box harness laid out on engine bay to get a feel for routing.

I have collected quite a few parts for my project, but still lack the turbo, cam, valvetrain, 4 of the injectors, engine management/wiring, and other random parts. Ive still got to assemble the engine, rebuild the TH400, and the 8.8 that I have. Been slacking on it majorly not to mention another project I had in the way of it that I finally finished.

A quick test of the trans brake and boost activated cutout. You can hear it open around 5psi.

She needs some rear gear badly.
