Want to transform my 99 z28 automatic into a DD with 600 rwhp
I know most of you guys might tell me to do more research but I've done a lot and still need your help. I'm not rich but I'm about to have a steady income of at least $60,000 a year starting out for budget purposes. Obviously I don't want to spend $50,000 grand on my setup but what I spend it on I want to be reliable, safe, and powerful.
Goals: 600 rwhp with a turbo setup (twin/single) in safest way possible, want the engine to not blow, still get good highway gas mileage, take out nearly anyone on the street except people that hit lower 10s and high 9s on the strip.
So far ideas that keep running into my mind is to strengthen the rods and Pistons on the stock ls1 because that has been said to be the weak point. Besides that, do I need a different transmission or do I need to do anything else to my engine for it to handle 600 to the wheels? I know my stock bottom end will need an upgrade so I don't destroy it also. Should I get a twin turbo set turbo set up or a single?? Should I add the magic stick 4 cam along with some great headers?? I'm gonna need a good tune as well. I appreciate your responses because I know you guys out there have much more experience than me. Help me out! Thanks!

one of our turbo kits can definitely get you there on an affordable budget. you can even retain the air conditioning if you please! I can help you along the way from bumper to bumper.

Just weld some vbands on truck manifolds, dont make your dollars rain for just 600hp, merge two pipes into a t4 flange and slappa turbo in there, see denmah for an idea of how to do it

I built my own front mount kit for my car for $1400. Intercooler, new radiator, and piping all included. Granted I got my turbo for free, and my fuel system was already done. But anyways, just add in the turbo cost to that. S475s are like $650. I ended up making 755 to the wheel with the setup at that time. And the turbo I was using is not nearly as good as an S475.
