What gears for Turbo and 4l80e
Alright guys need your input on this one... Quick brief on the car 4th gen Camaro 3680lb race weight (might drop more weight, new year new me) lol front mount setup running a 4l80e with Trans brake... 9" rear end with 3.55 gears 28" tall tire ... Now would I benefit with sticking with the 3.55 or going with either 3.25 or even 3.00 I understand that turbos like a load so would I benefit with sticking with what I have now being the car is a pig?

Only one way to find out & that's to try them out. I would say 3.2's would work well, overall, if you have the power to pull more MPH.
If the converter is loose I would address that for sure.
How soon before the line are you at 6500?

What Slow94 said. Gear it to your desired trap RPM and don't worry about the mph. In drag racing you are shooting for the best ET and not MPH. ET wins races not MPH. Also a lot of ET is made in the 60ft times. Which means higher ratios, but more RPM at the finish.
As for Turbo setup and what gearing it likes, I am learning myself. About to start the build on my truck so I will fine out what it likes. I currently have 3.89 with a 4L80e but may swap to a different trany. So I am watching this thread for info.

just curious are you saying a 2;00 something gear would potentially be better with a 28" tall tire? Thanks Mark

He has to just look at his RPM & go from there. If you don't want to spin it past 6500 but think you can pull 5, 10 more mph then going steeper isn't going to help, I don't think. hard to say until you tighten the converter, so then the converter impacts mid-range pull, balancing act here.
If he can pull harder on the top end for more MPH & not lose 1/8th, its the way to go.
