Ordered! Hope to have some pic's up in the next few weeks as the weather improves.

Thanks for acknowledging the LT1. She and I had some great times. This 5.3 seems to be even hairier. Maybe it was the worn Nitto DRs(315x35x17) but the rear end is all over the place getting into it in 2nd and 3rd gears.

Is there a reason you went with the 55241 vs the 25241 radiator? Trying to see if .5 inch thickness is worth an extra 100 dollars for the radiator

Is there any way to use a custom condenser and lines to keep ac
I have a Huron speed ac kit with a t4 s480.
I don't mind standing up my rad but I don't want to give up the ac.

I had read a few threads were people had overheating issues with the smaller ones which was cured by going to the bigger version. I wanted it right the first time. Turbo needs all the help it can to keep tenps down.

Hopefully someone else can help with this I'm not sure. I will say fans and an a/c condensor wont fot unless you do a lot more cutting. The stock hood latch would have to go as well.

Well I looked on summit and the 55241 is only 2.5inch thick while the 25241 shows 3 inches thick that's why I was wondering

I'm not sure now. The overall thickness shows 3 inches but the core only shows 2 inches. So I don't know.

I, too, had read many stories here and on other sites about some of the Griffin radiators not cooling sufficiently. Glad our good friend sweet99ss found the better radiator for me/us.

I'm thinking about having a shop cut the top 2/3rds of my A/C condensor off.......I think it will still cool the interior of the car with a 2,000cfm fan attached to the front of the condensor.

Well I'm about convinced that I want to go ahead and stand my radiator up, just for the extra space, to make it easier to work on things. Any additional cooling is a bonus. The 55241-XS looks like a good option to go, but I've heard of a few others. There is the On3 Kit. Has anyone used it?

http://www.on3performance.com/shop/o...-radiator-kit/

I also read somewhere where someone had bought a Griffin that already had the steam port on it? Can't seem to find it.

Since Sweet, and I have very, very similar builds, this would be easy for me to follow along with, and is probably the best option, I was just curious if anyone had tried the On3 kit, or if anyone knew the number of the Griffin with the steam port. I'm thinking that they may have called and had it done as a custom from Griffin?

Just reviewing threads here, so now Sweet99ss and I have the same color 4th gen Camaro, with the same turbo kit (huron speed V1), the same turbo ('netics 7875), the same fuel pumps (Racetronix 340s), now if I go and put in the same Griffin, am I breaking any copyright laws? (at least I had the 7875, and the racetronix pumps first, but I was way behind on the turbo kit). Maybe just great minds think alike!!

Are you running a stock alternator? Just curious as they draw almost 50 amps together if the stock alternator would be able to keep up with twin fuel pumps as well.

I'm running a stock alternator and it can not keep up when both the Derale fans are running, I actually replaced the alternator thinking it was defective, same situation with a new one. Even with only 1 of my 2 fuel pumps running, the 2nd fuel pump only comes on when in boost, the alternator still doesn't keep up with both fans on I've read of people putting the second fan on a manual switch and running it only when needed. I'm considering trying to make it work with just a singe fan when I stand my radiator up. If the second one is not really needed because of the more efficient radiator with the thicker core, I'd rather save the current draw, and the extra 5 lbs or whatever it is on the nose of the car.

Ok I thought I was the only one haven current issues with them. I had a single derale on my stock rad and it would get over 220 in 90f+. So I stood mine up with the Griffin and tried 2 small pullers. There really close to the turbo and not sure yet if it'll work. But they only pull 8 amps vs 50 of the derales. I may have to put the derale on and just have it on a switch when it's really warm out but never during a wot run.

I agree. That's a clever setup *IF* it cools correctly.

On the Alternator topic, thanks for discussing that. I have two 340 LPH pumps and now the two Derale Fans. My current stock alternator is a 100/105(?) amp output. So after reading the above accounts, I ordered the Powermaster direct bolt-on 150amp alternator just a few minutes ago.

I just sent a PM to Mightymouse asking if he knows if the setup (radiator inserted where the stock windshield liquid bottle is located) cooled sufficiently and if it did, what the radiator part number might be.

You could do the truck alternator for a Silverado HD, Yukon slt or Tahoe Lt something with a lot of accessories they are a 145 or 160 be sure to get it with the wiring harness plug In the right position. they come in different placements and two pin plug or 4 pin depending on what year truck u buy it for. There is only one wire that goes to the stater but our cars take the 4 pin plug so if you don't want to have to cut n solder be sure to get one with 4 pin plug

Lol a lot of similar parts! Do we both have a strange S60 rear as well?

I have my second derale wired on an on/off switch and just turn it on if it starts getting warm. It definitely pulls a lot of amps. I see a big volt drop when I turn the second one on. I make sure it's off when I go WOT so the pumps have plenty of juice.
