Default My twin turbo Z06 ran 8.83 on Saturday

I improved upon my personal best a little bit on Saturday. I ran an 8.83 @ 151 (8.88 was my previous best). I made six 8 second passes at the Corvette Challenge.

Here are some videos from Saturday:

Chasing a guy with a 5 second head start

8.83 @ 151 mph video - new personal best

8.90 @ 151 mph video

8.89 @ 150 mph video

Fairly consistent times for an 8 second turbo car. I ran 8.87 on an 8.85 dial in Round 1 but I red lighted by -.007 (see first video)

That guy you raced in the first one must have broke out with how consistent you ran. Very nice GL

John

Good observation. He broke out by nearly 2 tenths.

No, I haven't driven this car on the street since the Spring but I'm working on putting a full exhaust back on the car and registering it as a collector car so I don't get my ***** busted. And I need new wheels with biggest DOT tires that will fit the car. My car is not tubbed so I'm somewhat restricted in tire sizes.

Yeah i was wondering about driving on the street with a glide. I'm building a 1600 hp trans am and can't decide what to do with the tranny b/c i want to drive it on the street some. Do you have any pics of your turbo set up that you could link up?

Well the 200R4 is basically an overdrive Th400...

Single digit grand national guys have them mastered.. Build one the way the best of them do and you are set.

I still have to scan the slip.

I used to run FAST because the new BS3 wasn't out yet. But I switched to BS3 this year. What a great move that was. And John provides great support. He even did a little custom work to my unit.

Nice runs... that C5 is hauling some serious ***. I watched the first video and your car sounds like a jet approaching.

A Th200-4R is a TH350 with overdrive..... not even in the same class as a TH400. If you want overdrive a 4L80E would be the only thing I would even think about putting behind it. That is a TH400 with overdrive and there is a car running 9.10's@150mph+ with one (built by W2W and LS2 370/T-88).

You can put $4K+ into a built TH200-4R and once they get past the low 10's they still are prone to breakage. I was into GN's for many many years. For the 10's they are great... faster than that and they don't last long.

Thanks...

I have only done a TH350, a mopar 727 truck, tranfer cases, muncie and DSM manuals...

I got my 200R4 core from a special carry it x feet and its dirt cheap day at a yard... Nice having a brother about 5-7 and 250#'s no fat...

Any links to no holds barred hard parts for the 4L80E...

I suppose I can try to buy the gearsets from a rossler 210 seperate....

If I cant do that I guess some of the TH400 billet stuff will work in some places on the trans...

Either that or build up a dang allison..

Already going to the Vette vs Viper Shootout at New England Dragway. Besides, my rear suspension isn't stock so I couldn't participate anyway.

You would just carry weight for the 12 bolt Paul.

No flames but I hear the Viper turnout for that event is pretty minimal. Hope you change your mind.

Next season put a Tremec in there, wouldn't that be wild...
