What tranny (A3 or A4 with a brake or no), rear gears, converter (stall and STR), and tire size are you guys running?

Yes it would all depend on the amount of power you are making.

500-600 HP, I am thinking about going with a TH400 which I would need a new converter for so I am just trying to get a game plan together. It makes 501 now, and I am making some changes to it so it will be between five and six hundred HP.

I like the th400's....They're proven winners...Are you going to be using this on the street all of the time?? do you have the cash to pay for all of that fuel??

If that's all the power you plan on making just go with a 350.

Even a decent built 4l60 should handle 5- 600 and you keep O/D. I myself am going with a Rossler T210, rest pretty much the same as what NA$STY is using.

Leo you going with a Glide or a TH210??? The TH-210 is a TH-400 with a 2.10 first gear...... thats the same Tranny Steve Turley's running.
Either way Rossler will take care of ya and it will take the abuse you put towards it.

My Th-400 held up good behind a 4200lb brick w/ 630rwhp. You know you're wanna go faster once you meet your "current" goals, so might as well plan ahead.

Im going with the 210, liek the 3rd gear to keep some kind of streetability, Rossler is the man I know, plus hes not far at all from our shop. the 210 is his cream of the crop, lol I can pass it up..not cheap though.

Yeah there's no real lose in streetability with a Glide over TH-400....
400's 3rd gear is 1:1
and Glided 2nd gear is the same 1:1
The reason i went with a glide over a 400 was the first gear. easier on a turbo car at the launch and the fall off between 1-2 isnt that bad when you have the HP to do it..... i went with the 1.80 first gear.
Plus if it ever does break a glide is alot cheaper to fix.......
Ill agree with ya the TH210 is the cream of the crop.....

Rossler 4L80E w/ Brake
Midwest custom lockup converter
3.50 gears
28" tires

If you havn't bought a tranny yet. Get a well built TH400 if you don't need OD. Power is a nasty drug and your going to want more. If you start out with a good tranny you'll save yourself money in the long run.

My next setup will include a Rossler 4L80e w/ brake.

I hope it could hold up behind a 4000lb truck, 509BBC w/ PT94mm.

Foxspy, thats a bad *** truck! I had a 1990 454SS and always dreamed of making big power with it, but decided that a truck was a bad jumping off point. Props to you for having something unique!
