same crap just one is 2.5 in/out and the other is 3"

I would avoid the first one, it does not look like a quality part.
I tend to dislike the configuration of both in/out on the bottom, seems like you would want the in on top and the out on bottom, for maximum cooling. Just my opinion.

If you dont need the extra thickness dont go with it. Remeber the thinner the core the more efficient it will be due to the air speed.
