Vortec V-1 S Trim (lt1)

Potential is up to about 10psi boost.
Downside is it whines, but that's just not my preference (I have the Superquiet S-trim).
To safely hit 10psi boost, you need an intercooler of some type, either A2A, or A2W (aftercooler).
You will need tranny work or clutch work.
You will need a beefier rearend.
You will need a tune, and maybe larger injectors.
You will need 2.5X the amount of money that you think you will need, plus $1000 for misc. stuff.
You will be quicker.
You will get addicted to boost and want a larger blower, within 1 year of your good tune.
You will wonder why no one will race you.
New toys will magically appear on your horizon - stuff you never thought of before. Like YSI blowers and twin turbos.
Life will be awesome - life will suck, depending on how your car is running.
Be prepared to deal with it all.

I didn't say not to do it! I always like the old school saying "Upgrade your car from the rear to the front".
Putting the most useful mods first, I would go: Suspension, brakes, tranny, rearend, motor. At least your car gets more fun and more reliable at the same time.
