Default STS kit with Edelbrock shorties

I plan on buying an STS kit this winter and I just recently bought a pair of Edelbrock shorties on ebay for $91 new and I'd like to use them, as my '98 has the worst flowing manifolds of all the F-cars. I've read threads on long tubes being bad for the STS kit due to excessive heat dissipation, but these aren't much more surface area than my stock manifolds as well as being constructed out of stainless steel, which retains heat better. My turbo Buick had stainless shorties so I figured they'd be decent on a rear mount set up. I also plan on wrapping the hot side from front to rear with header wrap, aside from the headers. Any opinions on this?

IMO, I would coat them and use them. Coating them along with wrapping your exhaust will be a big benefit.
