STS GUYS n HERE!
I have been thinkin STRONGLY bout gettin a STS Turbo for my car. I've been readin/researchin alot lately on peoples opinions are on there kits. WHICH in most cases are really positive. My car is a DD and just hit 80,000miles. I want to shoot for 450-500hp range, if i do get the kit. SO couple questions....Does the "kit" make a good daily driver? Will my stock A4 tranny snap like a twig under that kind of power? Is the installation rediculously hard or possible within a weekend?....Pretty much the do's and donts. Any suggestions would be HIGHLY appreciated...

First question: Yes.. great daily driver.
Second question: No... with 450-500 your A4 will hold up fine
Third: Yea it isnt that bad... buy the kit from Billy at TRTPerformance and you can call him anytime and he will talk you through it. He has talked me through problems at 9pm on a Sunday.
My suggestions... go with a bigger stall, 12bolt or 9" rearend, 60lb injectors, FMIC and a good tune. With all those above you can have a low 11sec daily driver any time you stomp the gas. IMHO

Also you may wan to get a better drive shaft. They did an article of an install for the STS on my friends SS....He snapped 2 stock drive shafts. They praised the DSSL to help keep dammage minimal.
THey got 3.5 in stock length from one fo the sponsors here....But I cannot remember who though.....Shouldn't be but 450 or so for anew one....

my STS car is a daily driver with 80,000 miles. car is no different to drive normal than is was when it was N/A, except the devil on my shoulder telling me to put the pedal to the metal!! it took me and a friend a full weekend then about 1/2 day of tuning. you will need an intercooler or meth if you go higher than 5psi, and your A4 will do fine. eventually it will need rebuild or replacement. the guys at TRT are very helpfull and the guys at STS are very helpfull.
good luck and keep us up to date with your install.

STS kit
I'm getting ready to sell my GT70 STS kit that is currently on my car and making 620 RWHP with 16lbs of boost. I'm running pump gas and meth injection. The car is unreal fast and very fun to drive. It's my daily driver. I hate to sell it but things are tight right now so some of the toys have to go.
The kits been on the car for about 6 months I have about 3k miles on it and have not had ay problems at all.
I'll make you a great deal on it if you're interested.

nojdrof id like to know what your build is like with 620rwhp. Stock cubes/heads, cam? What was tune like?
RamAirGod id highly suggest losing your sportlines because youll be scraping with the sts on. Also if your lookin for a solid 450-500hp then consider meth as a safety net. Youll find that stock compression is a bit too tricky with 8-9psi to make around 500hp. Also search in rear mount or sts and check out the past builds that guys have done/gone thru to see whats worked and what hasnt.
personally i stuck with a 60trim but plan to complete the car with lq9s w/upgraded springs (918 work good), hardened pushrods, a walbro 255 in-line, 42lb inj, FMIC, meth, and ls6 cam. Should make a solid 450 with 7-8psi. Id probly look into racetronix for intank pump.
How are the PCV setups on sts kits in the long run? any guys experiencing probs?
