Default larger filter for turbo setup!?!

ok the filter im using is about 6 inches long .....has anyone found the differnence with adding this filter from k&n RE-0870? for a procharger setup i guess they gained 2 pounds....would it help quite a bit more? the reason i dont have a bigger one now is because the filter is hitting the lower radiator hose ! im hoping with a new radiator that will fix the problem!
