How many have blown their motor after going with forced induction?
I see people pop in here from time to time thinking about forced induction, sometimes on a tight budget. This info would give them one more thing to consider before taking the leap. I'm also curious to see what the numbers would be.

I'm not tune-savvy (Tuned by Revxtreme), but I am conservative, not in my driving style but in how often I drive it (Once every week or two).
Drove it like that for a year, didn't blow it, and sold my stock motor for a good price to help pay for the new one.

I had an 75k mile stock bottom that generated crankcase pressure once I started applying boost; since it was going to have to be rebuilt I figured I'd just get a new forged setup for a bit more $$.
So, technically, not blown up... but pretty close.

I was suprised a how easy it was to melt #7 piston. It crackled a little at the shift points and that was all it took. After going forged I ran once and my meth pump took a ****, I picked up at least as much detonation as I did when I blew the stock pistons but the forged slugs held up fine. The stock pistons are not very forgiving.

just out of curiousity.... when you blew your nitrous pistons... what was it from... too lean or too rich...
also when you blew your FI motors what was it from... too lean or too rich?
just curious... thanks,

the better flowing heads and bigger Cubic inches you have the less PSI it takes to make big HP.... IE theres more room for air to go in the cylinders... so it doesnt have to CRAM in there as hard as a motor thats a 346 with stock heads... even though it uses the same cubic feet of air...
