changing to a larger A/R?
Alright guys I知 doing some research and I want to know how much of a difference changing exhaust housings will make. I知 working on f-body with a stock motor and an intercooled, remote mount garett 67mm turbo (sts) with a .82A/R housing installed.
I have a spare .96A/R (I think it痴 a .96) housing somewhere in the garage. If I swap housings how can I expect the car to behave.
I know I haven稚 given you much to work with but I知 just looking for ballpark figures here.
The car makes 480ish to the wheels now, what can I expect to pick up peak #s and how much longer will it take to spool up?
Again I know this is bench talk at its finest, but any input would be appreciated.

Rear mount is voodoo science compared to front mounts. To compare apples and oranges, twin GT2871r's "generally" pick up 50rwhp when you change from 0.6 to 0.8 ar turbine housings with a ~ 500RPM later spool. Rear mount needs some input from Jose,Rick,TTr, etc that has fooled with them.

did a rear mount on mine. best advice i can give ya is wrap all your exhaust, get your pieces (cold side) as straight as you can from the back of the car to the front.
maybe someone else can chime in here that has done a LOT with the rear mounts

yeah the car is done im just looking at changing the exhaust housing. the FMIC setup is pretty well done, if i may say so. THe exhaust is wrapped and the turbo spools up pretty quickly. the owner like the way the car feels and pulles even low in hte rpm range. im just weighing the benefits of swaping the housing for a street only car. i dont want to kill the spool time to badly.
thanks though.

i dont think the .96 is really helpful. i have the .96 on it now and i've read MANY MANY times that i really dont need that just yet. i would like to move to the .81 for quicker spool
