Default Megasonic BOV with Video

I did a lot of searching here looking for a replacement BOV that was little louder and didn't find too many clips. So I did the next best thing and bought TurboSmarts Megasonic and took a quick video after lunch today so that others would find something useful in their searches:

Video just finished uploading. If you try now, there's one or two WOT runs.

You should hear it blow off up at 15-18psi, it gets a LOT louder, one loud burst, none of the chattering like it does down low

See, I prefer the chattering. My RFL is just one loud whoosh. I actually prefer the sound of surge over the sound of a BOV. . .

You need to loosen the top a few turns. All that compressor surge is not good...

The surge seemed to only result from throttle-off at very low boost (~5 psi?).

It sounded healthy with some decent boost... Is that still too tight?

The first day driving it, it chattered a lot worse. I loosened it up until the red warning line, and didn't want to go further than that. It does chatter a lot under low boost (~3psi), but once it opens with more pressure it's one big loud whoosh followed by some chatter. I'm curious to find out more on this and I don't know anyone else personally with one.

I'm only running ~10psi right now, and that video I granny shifted almost every time as the speed limits tend to keep me honest. I'll try to get some highway pulls on it, as the noise changes entirely.

I must say, my first experience with it made me grin from ear to ear. I pulled on the highway and opened it up. At the top of second gear, I passed two harleys going the opposite direction and both of them got wiplash trying to figure out what the loud whoosh was.

^ Nice set-up! And not just because we're running the same turbo! That BOV does truly sound incredible.

I thought the chatter was the WG...thats actually the BOV making that noise?

And that needs to be eliminated is what your saying? Because thats what my turboxs sounds like right now but only when I give it boost it chatters...not quite as frequently as yours. That megasonic sounds good though

what kind of guage cluster cover is that? stainless?
