With both kids in school now the mustang vert just wasnt working out, so I picked up one of these yesterday since I'm getting bored with the firebird and needed something to play with. Its been laying on the dealer lot for 10 months and they finally decided to deal on it and along with the 4K cash back it was surprisingly cheap. Its just a plain jane 2wd with no options except a sunroof. This one will be modded, and if you want to talk about a heavyweight its 4660lbs with me in it. Figure if I can get it into the 11s it will make a cool daily driver, just not sure if I'm going to go heads/cam/headers or some kind of forced induction. The LS2 in it stock whips it around pretty good, shame they put the 4l60 (4l70 actually but its still a 4L60) junk in it instead of a 4l80 but at least the rear is is fairly strong.

Nice ride KP.
I say skip the cam/headers, nitrous, whatever, yadda yadda.. Just go FI and make a ton of power with better drivability.
It'd be fat as hell to have a dead quiet stock-ish sounding 11 second trailblazer, that is for sure.
Peace,
Josh

Like 27K cheap, really what can you buy for that thats brand new with a 100k powertrain warranty and a 400hp LS2. Even though its a stripper it still has power everything, decent stereo with XM, onstar and all the usual stuff so its not like a base civic or something. Put a couple hundred miles on it today and had it up on a lift, not a ton of room but I think a turbo may be the best way to go. I dont think anyone makes a centrifugal for it, it already has a 4.10 gear so thats nice.
John, 4wd is only a couple thousand more, problem is you dont see many AWD ones that arent over 40K loaded up. 2wd has traction control, stabletrack (active handling sort of, posi and is fairly heavy plus has way better ground clearance then a car so I would sport a 2wd in Chicago.

I had the opportunity to ride in one of these 3 years ago. My neighbor works for GM and is one of the higher ups. They gave him one of these for a week when it was still in the experimental or concept stage when he had to go to Cleveland on business. It was the AWD version. This was during an unexpected snow storm that hit us with over a foot of snow in one day. I must say I was totally impressed. As unrefined as it was (pre-production) it was a very nice ride. Actually pulled my 4000+ LB Lincoln MarkVIII up our street in over a foot of snow without blinking an eye. Nice ride.

damn good looking truck Kevin! Damn you for finding one so cheap, we looked quite a bit around here for one in that $25-27K price range, most were over $30K bare-bones. Sunroof is the only option I'd want too, it makes the interior feel more open.
Those LS2s love boost, I wouldn't waste any time with bolt-ons or such. Turbo or the larger Magnacharger (MP122) would be an easy 500+ rwhp bolt-on with nothing else changed

Its a nice color Mike, I wanted a blue one but there is none to found around here.
Only thing that gets me is I'm reading on the TBSS boards that the transmissions puke on these STOCK pretty often under 15K miles. Dont know if thats just because a lot of the same people keep having problems on the boards, I have great luck with every truck I towed with that had a 4L60 do its hard to believe that one of these stock could tear up the trans that easy, its pretty quick stock but its no monster thats for sure.
