Default Turbo Choices.....

Hey guys,
I'm putting a forged 347 into my RX7 and am debating on turbo setups. i've narrowed it down to two. let me know if you have any ideas.

1) Twin Turbonetics 60-1's with a trick upflow intercooler setup, 38mm wastegates, truck manifolds

2) Turbonetics GTK1000, 50/60mm wastegate, normal front mount intercooler and truck manifolds

they both end up being about the same price believe it or not but the twins will look way better IMO.

What kind of A/R's do you run on smaller twins?
Thanks!

no need for an over priced gtk unit... the turbonetics tc76 with mps wheel will get you more than enough power at less than 1/2 the price. also a 40/44mm wastegate is more than enough

I run the turbonetics tc76 with mps wheel. It maxed out my fuel system quite easily (60# mototrons at ~73 psi) I don't have any dyno #'s.

It greatly depends on what your goals are.

Drive a car with a TC76 and you will have VERY fast response. Feels like a blower car.

Right twin 60's will not hit any harder or even as hard as a TC76MPS.

It will not respond as fast, but has the capability to out power the TC76 by a fairly large margin.

Yeah as TJ mentioned the ST80 is in a class above the TC76. It will greatly outpower it but spools a bit slower.

Where is yours coming on full tilt at?? Most of our S91 guys with race cars say they are getting full tilt around 4000-4500rpms and pulls clean to 7500-8000. Fast mph we have gotten back from one of our customers so far is 143.XX in the 1/8th.

I'm not too concerned with power output as pretty much anything over 550rwhp on pump gas (91 octane) will do well in a 2500lb car.

What kind of power are you guys seeing with 76's? and with twin 60's?

It just needs to be fun to drive on the street and capable of upping the boost on C16 gas.

I did 710rwhp with a T76gts through a 9" and 3200 stalled TH400 on a STINGY dyno dynamics dyno. 14psi.

What year is your car? hinson is working on developing a bolt on turbo kit. You may want to talk to him before goin out there and trying to develop one yourself. Also if all you want is 500-550 whp I would go with a 402 and a nasty head/cam combo. Would prob be cheaper than a turbo setup and a lot easier to work with.

I have an FC with a 346 and I am shooting for a litle under 500whp NA.. so a turbo isnt really necessary if thats all your looking for.

I'll check into hinsons setup, I already have the 347 though. I just have always driven turbo cars I like them i guess.... lol, for lack of better explanation. I'm pretty good with fabrication too.

this will be through a t56 too so 700rwhp would be sick on the freeway!
